A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to go to New York with my FCP course! The whole trip was amazing! I want to go again, I want to live there! I feel like I got a lot done while there and saw and experienced some amazing things while in New York, but the place is so big, I feel I would need at least a month to experience everything!!

Fashion Loves Art
Fashion and art go together so well, but there is often the point were fashion gets to much like art?
Artist and director Tony Kaye was inspired by surrealism in the Dunlop advert in 1993, complimenting the advert with velvet underground song, Venus in Furs.

Within the 19th century, Oriental art was inspired i fashion, from embroideries to furniture.
Art Deco big in the 1920's- 30s was decadent, and a mix between nature, art and fashion. still seen today in Paris on the metro entrances.
Avant Grade is very often seen with couture fashion.

Influences
Within this seminar we had a series of images in front of us, from famous actors, to inventors, business and politic and brand logos. we had to choose a image hat stood out to us. I choose a portrait of Edie Sedgwick, an American actress, model and socialite.
The first thing that draws me to this image is the whole look, the heavy make up, but when you look deeper you can see see looks almost lost and confused like a deer caught in the headlights. She was known for her party girl ways, what with being friends with Andy Warhol, she became girl of the year in 1965. I love how glamorous she looks but you can still see her harsh rock and roll lifestyle within her look.
This is one of favourite photographs of Madonna. I have always been inspired by her style, but more recently her 80's look. I have been told I have been told I look like her since I was 10! and while in New York in Macy's too. Its not only her style that influences me, its her whole persona the strong sexual influence with being a strong female, so rough so raw and yet so glamorous and untouchable.
