Introduction Week

Within the introduction week our main task was a street style task. With this we could explore Nottingham more and what the general style of the city is like. We done this in groups which was good to make new friends on the course. My group didn't have much knowledge of the city but I did as I had already lived there for a year, doing a different course at the university, so i showed them the most cultural parts and where we would find the best dressed of the city!

We took inspiration from the Bill Cunningham film we watched at the Broadway cinema in town. Bill was the first street style photographer, capturing only the very stylish and anyone who catches his individual well trained eye in New York City, to be published weekly in the style section of the New York times. Now 80 + he continues his work with the paper and being adored and yet mysterious to everyone, including Anna Wintour.

With Bill as our street style photographer guru, we didn't just choose to take pictures of the most stylish but people that really caught our eye! from OAP's with bright pink hair to couples who were unknowably matching some way.
I really enjoyed this task and would love to continue capturing the unique style of the street myself.
