For our seminar we got asked to bring in advertisement images for our brand we had been given. Mine was Hollister, which at first was not something I was very pleased about as its a brand I don't relate to and choose not to follow, but I thought maybe learning about the brand would maybe give me a better understanding of it.
This is my first response to the image.
- Young, playful.
- First love, wholesome all american couple.
- Beach and surf, natural.
- A young couple, or boy and girl who fancy each other, playing fighting. Made to see the girl is in control.
- You can't really see much of the products they are trying to sell, more of the way of life they want there consumer to aspire to.
- Sepia tint on the image and rough boarder gives it a more vintage feel like its from the 70's.
I would say Hollister's trend is very young ( 14- 18) sporty and relaxed. I think their target audience is young, natural, surfing, teens to young adults. But their actual audience is young teenagers that are after that way of life. Maybe young girls wanting that first love like there advertisements, with young boys wanting to look like the guys in them. I also think that young teens just want to wear the brand name and to be seen in it to boost there status within their school/ area maybe even suggest money.
Overall I am still not yet a fan of Hollister and their advertisements.
